Executive On-Boarding

"Worth Ethic's process for transitioning our executives has made all the difference. Our success rate with outside hires and promotions has doubled."

Provide effective transitioning to your newly hired or promoted executives with a customized program that eliminates guesswork about how to be successful.

THE CHALLENGE

New executives are under immense pressure to meet expectations and perform at the highest level, even before they know what issues they're facing. A new role brings a new set of players, an unfamiliar culture and business challenges that need immediate attention. Without giving new leaders critical success strategies, otherwise high performers are left unsupported and are at risk of floundering in the early stages of their work, possibly never succeeding long term.

WORTH ETHIC'S UNIQUE APPROACH

PART I: ON-BOARDING MATERIALS PACKAGE
We develop a company-specific package of materials, based on organizational, cultural and geographic issues. Materials include a detailed process that the executive will use with a coach to help him or her address:

  • Business strengths and risks in the context of the strategy and business model

  • Strengths and risks of key systems and business processes

  • Key cultural issues: people, values, communication practices

  • Nuances of successful executive behavior, including influencing skills

  • Addressing problems and handling conflict in meetings and presentations

PART II: INTRODUCTORY SESSIONS & ONGOING FOLLOW-UP

  • Initial Executive Meeting: Materials are reviewed and discussed initially by the executive with a coach during two half-day meetings in the executive's first month.

  • Introductory Session with Team: With the executive, create a half-day session to introduce himself, his values and leadership style, his aspirations and upcoming issues.

  • Ongoing Coaching and Integration: The initial sessions are followed by six follow-up meetings, with regular phone and email contact between meetings.

PART III: LEADERSHIP ASSESSMENT & TEAM OFFSITE

  • Leadership Assessment: At six months, conduct a mini-360° assessment that includes interview data from key executives and all direct reports (see 360° Assessments for info).

  • Team Offsite: With the executive, design a one-day team offsite to discuss executive team collaboration. The executive shares assessment themes and development plans.

360 Assessments

Ask Yourself:

1.
Are new executives briefed on how success will be measured early on?
2.

Do they get frequent feedback about their fit in your culture?
